The interest for playing guitar came to me at the age of 17, whilst the interest in singing always has been there more or less. Not long after I picked up the guitar and had learnt a few chords, I started writing songs of my own. After years of performing both alone and along with my rock n roll cover band called Trigger, am I now on the verge of releasing my very first CD.
I hope you are able to find the core I’m trying to maintain in my songwriting, to always touch a certain subject, to find a meaning and sometimes recognize yourself in the songs. Despise huge influences in guitar playing from rock legends such as Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Brian May you always tend to give birth to your own style of playing the guitar; the hard part is to do the same in songwriting.
Mark Knopfler once said that his limited ability in singing made him use the guitar as a voice, to be able to sing things he otherwise couldn’t. He started to think of the guitar as a voice, and that has really etched its mark on me.
My biggest dream is to one day be able to enter a stage in front of an audience who are there for the reason that they want to hear my own songs. So I hope we will meet one day at a stage somewhere and until then – fill your life with music.
Friedrich Nietzsche once said; “Without music, life would be a mistake”, which I think most of us will agree on, weather you are playing or only listening to it.
